Didn’t Bonepart and Hitler set out do do the same thing about this time of year?
Timing’s a bit off – Barbarossa started on the 22nd.
(Ackshully… this whole thing smells of kayfabe. There’s so much bullshit flying around during this Ukraine tiff, I just ignore it all.)
Another squirrel to distract the world.
Wagner “threatens” Moscow.
Putin rallies Russian troops to save the Motherland, has to pull army from Ukraine do do this.
Poor PutiePoot would have won Ukraine but for this emergency, so he doesn’t get shot for losing blood and treasure to no avail there, and emerges as hero when Wagners surrender.
Wagner lower ranks are shot or gulagged, Prigozhin gets a billion to go into Cayman Island exile.
Putie plans his next ego boost.
Just what I was thinking.
Tsar Putin I can’t lose a war but he needed to get out of that one.
With the added plus of flushing out those insufficiently supportive.
There’s probably a lot of truth in what you say. At this moment, Prigozhin is on his way to Belarus and a “peaceful” retirement. Story yesterday (you can believe it or don’t, your choice) that there were three mini vans stuffed with rubles found near Prigozhin’s supposed home or office. Official story is that it was cash to pay his troops. But the sceptic in me says it was pre-positioned “getaway money.”
Whatever the current actual situation is, if I were Prigozhin, somebody would be taste testing my caviar and vodka, starting my car for me, and I sure wouldn’t take a seat with my back to the door. With cash by the carload readily available and a new, Putin friendly associate taking over the Wagner Group, I’d be looking over my shoulder often.
Heck, Putin might just start spreading the rumor that Prigozhin has evidence on Hillary and Company, and let a real professional settle his problems.
So Priggy decides to move on Moscow, and pulls all, or at least a lot of, his troops east from Kherson, then north more than halfway to Moscow in barely more than a day, taking Rostov-on-Don without firing a shot along the way. Russia can do nothing to stop him, other than digging a ditch or two and parking some trucks on the highways. And Pootie is said to have yanked troops out of Ukraine to defend the capital, so they must have been driving right alongside Priggy’s convoy.
So a good chunk of both the Wagner group and the Russian conscript forces left Ukraine, for a few days anyway. Seems like Zelenskyy has/had a double power play to use until the clock runs down. So yes, Pootie can lose now on purpose, with “honor”, and blame it on Priggy. Win win, as that should keep him in power. For now.
I have no idea what any of these Czar/Fuhrer wannabes are doin’,
but they’re usin’ up money and ammo we’re gonna need in the Pacific
