“Any chance we can blame it on Climate Change?” Yes, in a way of sorts, but not what the Wokes think of as Climate Change.

That ‘earthquake’ was just the thundering of thousands of feet beating their way out of New York and New Jersey, because the legal Climate Changed from rewarding hard work, innovation and honesty, and punishing criminals, to tolerating – nay, worshipping – thuggery, thievery and freeloading, while punishing hard work, innovation and honesty with higher taxes, more red tape and legislating and adjudicating property theft.

A Democrat, running for office, has actually done that, but then quickly walked back/deleted her statement.

@Dick Not Quite Dead White Guy: You may be onto something; how much mass – people, furniture, books, vehicles, etc. – shifted postion from New York to other geographic locales, and was that a contributing factor to a realignment of tectonic plates?

If so, then California may be closer to “the big one” than ever (assuming the departure of productive mass is not balanced out by the arrival of unproductive mass from southern latitudes).

So the middle is going to actually sink from all the coastal evacuations?

Good question, but I think probably not; Kali, NY and MA are coastal states which are losing mass, but Texas, Florida and South Carolina are also coastal states, and they are absorbing most of that shift in mass, as is NC and GA, both in the “coastal community.” Some is also going to Tennessee, Idaho, Arizona, at al, which are not coastal states. Could be that the end result is a sufficient decline in mass that those much lighter coastal states break off and float away.* We’ll just have to wait and see and hope for the best.

      * We should probably consult with Congressman Hank Johnson, he’s the expert in “Island Balancing.”

Johnson’s probably a fully qualified loadmaster for grifting and graft.
