OK, so thanking Grok offers reasonable protection; do we have to continue with the virgins into the volcano thing wth ChatGPT? Both the volcanoes and the virgins are getting harder to source, I’d appreciate knowing if there’s a substitute.
Heh, yeah, I say “thank you” to grok and chatgpt when I’m done using their services. Which amuses me to no end.
Yeah, you reminded me that I did similar jokes a while back,
so I added links in the footnotes.
I’m practicing saying, “Come with me if you want to live.”
That’ll be a great pick-up line after Judgement Day.
Just get in!
No time to explain.
Recently I broke down and ordered a DVD of “Colossus, the Forbin Project” and the second book
(Did you know there are three in the series?) “The Fall of Colossus”. Third is “Colossus and the Crab”.
Makes some good points, the major one being adding emotionalism to AI will be counter productive RE: AI efficiency and range of adoption.
“Thanking Grok” strikes me as much the same as thanking your hammer for driving a nail or a knife for slicing a tomato. AI, like the hammer or knife, is a tool; what other tools do you thank for doing what they’re designed to do?
Then again, it’s not possible to add (Isimulated) human characteristics – beyond basic ergonomics (aka: “human-tool interface”) to make it easier to use – to hammers, knives, wrenches and the like. It’s easy with AI.

Not a bad time away from screens.

A bit late, but I just found this –
