A congressional delegation from the state of Alberta would probably be OK, but do we want to take a chance on two new senators from Greenland?
Given the semi-welfare dependent, not very educated populace there, I suspect they’d elect Democrats for promising them endless freebies.
If we must own it, make it a territory, ala Puerto Rico or Guam.
or make them US nationals ala Am. Samoa
Why don’t we do what America always does? Tell them where we want to build new bases, offer them 100-year leases at extremely high prices, then deal with them for the “natural resources” as we discover them and figure out what we need? We get our bases, they get a LOT more money than they ever dreamed, and Denmark gets a cut. Everybody’s happy, and we don’t risk adding more Democrat politicians to the mix.
We have a space/air base there already, we don’t need to take/buy the whole place; Trump can be such a maroon sometimes.
