This is my second stop in my morning tube.
Does that make me a pessimist, optimist or perhaps a masochist?
It makes you wise, discerning, and very easily entertained.
news or cartoons/memes…is there a difference these days?
About a week.
Good question.
My Punch collection goes back to the mid-19thC, and those cartoons were as much political/social satire/commentary as memes are, today.
To me, cartoons are more entertaining than memes.
Half the fun is finding the cartoon that best illustrates real individuals making an observation.
I’ve limited the candidates to about 2-dozen, since those pretty much cover what’s needed.
Same with adopting pictures for the non-Punch posts.
My favorites are the 3-panels with the classic comedy cadence:
situation, straight comment, punch-line.
I’d do more, here; but the goal is to be original, if not ultimately unique.
Most good jokes/observations are already taken.
I consider myself to be an optimistic pessimist.
In order: Pookie’s toons (sorry Doug), Sondrak’s Gulch, Stilton’s Place, Babylon Bee; Genesius times; People’s Cube… then maybe Fox News or Townhall.
Optimist – glass is half full.
Pessimist – glass is half empty
Engineer – glass is wrong size
Doug and some of us here are the latter. Which still doesn’t answer the Punch question.
Cynic: The glass is half full, but it’s probably pee.
I load news, comics and blogs , then go one at a time , sometimes jump around for variety. So I guess that makes me iconically Alzheimers.
