The reason we stop smuggling is to maintain a high retail price in the domestic market. Our local drug lords have bribes, er, bills to pay. According to my official rules for retail businesses,$1 billion worth cocaine that comes in on a cargo ship, half of that ‘value’ is retail markup, half of the other half goes to the smugglers. The other half of the other half goes to the guys who deliver to the port, and remaining $125 million goes to the producers. How many peasants does it take to produce a ton of cocaine? I suspect a number pretty close to a zillion. They each get twenty five cents.
Due process is taking careful aim and using enough gun, like a Hellfire. Don’t want to wound them. That would be cruel.
I think that was Obama’s reason for his prolific use of drones.
